General Manager
A growing hospitality group is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead the opening and day-to-day operations of a new high-volume, chef-driven Mexican restaurant. This role is ideal for an ownership-minded operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at building teams, and understands how to balance hospitality, culture, and financial performance.
The restaurant will feature approximately 150 seats, including outdoor dining, a full bar program, and a highly collaborative front- and back-of-house team. The General Manager will play a critical role in hiring, training, and developing the staff ahead of opening and will work closely with ownership to establish systems and operational standards.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor front- and back-of-house employees.
- Build a positive, accountable, and hospitality-focused culture.
- Lead all pre-opening hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives.
- Create schedules and staffing models that support service and profitability.
- Coach and develop future leaders within the organization.
Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Maintain high service standards and operational consistency.
- Collaborate closely with culinary leadership and ownership.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Foster strong communication between front- and back-of-house teams.
Financial Management
- Manage labor costs, scheduling, and operating expenses.
- Analyze sales trends and key performance metrics.
- Understand and actively manage prime costs, food costs, and labor percentages.
- Partner with ownership to develop bonus metrics and financial goals.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of General Manager experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of P&L management, labor controls, and restaurant financials.
- Proven experience leading teams through growth and change.
- Pre-opening experience strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working alongside ownership in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience with POS systems and restaurant technology platforms.
