Join our team as the Senior Strategic Sourcing Buyer and take full ownership of strategic category management and supplier development. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, you will lead complex sourcing initiatives, drive supplier negotiations, and shape the procurement strategies that support new product launches and long-term supply performance.
This role is ideal for a seasoned procurement professional who has deep experience in category strategy, contract management, and cross-functional sourcing leadership, and who wants to operate with a high degree of autonomy, as well as the opportunity to mentor junior sourcing staff and influence enterprise-level procurement decisions with a stable and expanding company.
Senior Strategic Sourcing Buyer | What You Will Do
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with quality, delivery, and cost objectives
- Lead supplier negotiations and manage vendor contracts and supply agreements
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen and diversify the supply base
- Manage Bills of Material for new products through all phases of development and launch, including cost, lead time, MOQ, and tooling coordination
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, QA, Sales Operations, Product Management, Materials Management, and Production
- Analyze procurement data using advanced Excel and D365 to drive reporting, cost reduction, and process improvement
- Report project timelines, KPI performance, and sourcing initiative status to leadership
- Mentor junior sourcing staff and provide technical direction on complex sourcing challenges
Senior Strategic Sourcing Buyer | What You Bring
- 5 to 10+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience
- Deep category knowledge and demonstrated expertise in contract and supplier management
- Experience leading cross-functional sourcing initiatives or global procurement strategies
- Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems, with D365 experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills applied to spend analysis, TCO modeling, and reporting
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate technical requirements for suppliers
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
- Purchasing certification (e.g., CPSM or equivalent) preferred
