Lead the culinary vision for an exciting new restaurant opening.
An established hospitality group is preparing to open a new high-volume, upscale restaurant in Philadelphia—bringing together elevated cuisine, vibrant energy, and an unforgettable guest experience. We are seeking a talented and driven Executive Chef to lead the culinary program from the ground up and play a key role in shaping the identity and long-term success of this opening.
About the Role
As Executive Chef, you will oversee all back-of-house operations and own the culinary direction of the restaurant. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a chef who thrives in opening environments, understands how to build strong teams, and is passionate about delivering exceptional food and memorable guest experiences.
While experience with Mexican or Latin-inspired cuisine is preferred, the group is open to chefs from other upscale culinary backgrounds who bring strong leadership, creativity, and operational excellence.
You will drive menu execution, establish kitchen standards, develop and mentor culinary talent, and ensure operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
What You’ll Lead
- Direct all culinary and kitchen operations for a high-volume upscale restaurant
- Partner on menu execution and culinary development with inspiration rooted in elevated Mexican flavors
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing BOH team
- Establish systems for consistency, quality control, and operational efficiency
- Manage food cost, labor, purchasing, inventory, and kitchen financial performance
- Partner with ownership and leadership on menu strategy and guest experience initiatives
- Maintain excellence in sanitation, safety, and overall kitchen standards
- Support opening timelines, team onboarding, and long-term operational success
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of Executive Chef or senior culinary leadership experience
- Experience leading high-volume upscale, polished casual, or fine dining kitchens
- Mexican or Latin-inspired culinary experience preferred, but not required
- Proven success developing culinary teams and building strong kitchen culture
- Strong financial acumen with food and labor cost management experience
- Opening experience highly preferred
- Passionate, hands-on leadership style with strong communication skills
