Senior Electrical Estimator
Raleigh, NC | Wastewater Treatment Plant & Industrial Projects
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to support a general contractor specializing in wastewater treatment plant and industrial construction projects in the Raleigh area. This individual will lead electrical estimating efforts for complex design-build and bid-build work, developing accurate takeoffs, pricing, and proposal strategies for projects involving industrial power, controls, process systems, and heavy electrical scopes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for wastewater treatment plant and industrial projects.
- Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents for scope, risk, and constructability.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors during preconstruction.
- Identify value engineering opportunities, scope gaps, and risk items.
- Support proposal development, bid reviews, and turnover to operations.
- Maintain current knowledge of market pricing, labor trends, and electrical construction methods.
- Build and maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably in industrial or heavy civil environments.
- Background estimating wastewater treatment plant, process, utility, or industrial electrical work strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, controls, instrumentation, and related scopes.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Experience with estimating software, takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Field experience as an electrician, estimator, or project manager is a plus.
