We are seeking a network systems engineer to join a small, highly skilled team focused on shaping the future of data processing and storage markets. This is a remote role, but candidates should be able to reliably work during specific time zones, such as LATAM (GMT-3) or Asia-Pacific (GMT+8), and communicate fluently in English with a global team. The role reports to the lead system architect.
**What You’ll Do**
– Design, set up, and manage large-scale storage clusters, including hardware choices, network setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
– Create efficient APIs that enable smooth, live migration of data and workloads with minimal disruption.
– Develop control services using Go, gRPC, and databases, connecting storage features to higher-level platform functions.
– Write clear technical documents, guiding ideas from planning through implementation and review.
– Build core storage tools used by both customer-facing applications and internal systems, supporting features like streaming and cache management.
**About Your Profile**
– You have extensive experience designing reliable, scalable distributed systems.
– You’re familiar with storage cluster architecture, especially systems similar to Ceph.
– You understand modern file systems, with extra points if you’ve worked with newer or advanced systems.
– You think long-term about system health and growth, planning solutions that can handle significant scale increases over time.
– You take care in your work, ensuring solutions are robust and future-proof.
