Remote Cost Control Specialist
Location: Remote with some travel required
A growing energy and infrastructure project management firm is seeking a Cost Control Specialist to support project financial management for transmission and renewable energy projects. This role plays a critical part in managing project budgets, maintaining accurate cost forecasts, and supporting project management teams during development and construction phases.
The Cost Control Specialist works closely with project managers, procurement teams, and financial stakeholders to ensure project expenditures are properly tracked, reported, and aligned with overall project budgets.
What You Will Do
• Manage and maintain project budgets and financial forecasts
• Prepare and update Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts for active projects
• Perform monthly cost reporting and financial reviews with project teams and leadership
• Monitor project expenditures and identify potential financial risks and mitigation strategies
• Support procurement activities including supplier setup, purchase requisitions, and purchase orders
• Manage invoice processing and ensure accurate financial documentation
• Track vendor and subcontractor expenditures to ensure project costs are properly recorded
• Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to maintain financial alignment throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Construction, or a related field
• 10 years of experience in project controls, project management support, or finance/accounting roles
• Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders
• Strong financial reporting and cost tracking skills
• Ability to analyze project budgets and support financial forecasting
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future
• Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Experience
• Experience with Oracle Fusion, EcoSys, or Oracle Primavera
• Experience supporting construction, infrastructure, or energy projects
• Earned Value Management or project scheduling exposure
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience working in collaborative project environments
