Director of Catering & Events
Position Summary
The Director of Catering & Events leads the sales, planning, and execution of all events at the property, with a strong focus on weddings and social events. This role oversees the catering and events team, drives revenue growth through strategic sales and upselling, and ensures exceptional event experiences from inquiry through completion.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, this position works closely with the Banquets and Food & Beverage teams to deliver seamless event execution while developing systems and processes that support long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead catering and event sales strategy to maximize revenue.
- Grow the wedding and social events market.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of events from inquiry through execution.
- Manage and mentor the events team, including the Wedding Sales Manager and Event Coordinators.
- Partner with Banquets and F&B leadership to ensure seamless operations.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and event processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hospitality experience in catering, events, or wedding sales.
- Strong background in wedding and social event sales and execution.
- Leadership experience managing or mentoring event teams.
- Experience in luxury or upscale hospitality preferred.
- Ability to balance both sales strategy and operational execution.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $100,000 – $130,000
- Up to 20% performance bonus + commission incentives
