Controller / CFO (Finance & HR Lead) – Onsite Daily
Location: Rye Brook, NY
Salary Range: $125,000 – $135,000 / year
Position Overview
An established Westchester County financial services firm is seeking a hands-on Controller/CFO to oversee daily financial operations, corporate accounting, and human resources. This dual-function role manages a small internal accounting staff and acts as a trusted advisor to ownership and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Manage cash receipts, disbursement journals, and internal controls for a 20-30 person company.
- Reporting & Compliance: Partner with the external CPA on corporate tax returns and bank covenant agreements.
- Auditing: Review and verify monthly agency reports from insurance, brokerage, and fee companies.
- HR & Payroll: Process bi-weekly payroll, bonuses, and benefits internally and through third-party administrators.
- Contracts & Billing: Maintain procurement agreements and resolve staff or vendor billing discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of specialized experience as a Controller/CFO or 7+ years as a Senior Accountant.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in GAAP, automated accounting systems, and advanced numerical analysis.
- Capability: Proven ability to troubleshoot financial errors and independently recommend process improvements.
