Director of Events & Catering
Luxury Resort | New England
A highly regarded luxury destination resort is seeking an experienced Director of Events & Catering to lead and elevate a well-established events program. This role will oversee the strategy, sales, and flawless execution of weddings, social celebrations, and corporate programs while mentoring a talented events team.
This position is ideal for a hospitality leader who understands the importance of creating exceptional experiences, cultivating high-level client relationships, and driving event revenue within a luxury environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Events & Catering department
• Mentor and develop a team including event coordinators and sales professionals
• Drive revenue growth across wedding, social, and corporate event segments
• Oversee the full lifecycle of events from initial inquiry through execution and follow-up
• Partner closely with culinary, banquet, and resort leadership to deliver elevated guest experiences
• Maintain strong relationships with high-end clients, planners, and preferred vendors
• Oversee event forecasting, budgeting, and departmental performance
• Ensure exceptional service standards consistent with a luxury resort environment
Qualifications
• 5+ years of leadership experience in luxury hospitality, resorts, or upscale event venues
• Strong background in weddings, social events, and corporate programs
• Proven success managing high-touch client relationships and large-scale events
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
• Knowledge of banquet service and food & beverage operations preferred
• Experience with hospitality or event management systems such as Delphi, Ivvy, Opera, or similar platforms is a plus
