Executive Chef Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food service management or assistant management roles
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Physical ability to stand for up to 5 hours and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work 50–60 hours per week
Executive Chef Preferred Background & Skills
- Seafood experience is highly valued
- Experience training sous chefs and kitchen managers
- Strong financial acumen with experience in kitchen budgeting and cost control
Executive Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee food production quality and ensure operational standards are consistently met
- Train, coach, and review the performance of sous chefs and the kitchen team
- Analyze financial reports and adjust operations to meet profitability goals
- Conduct regular meetings with kitchen management to drive engagement and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all labor, health, and safety regulations
- Manage kitchen shifts and maintain high standards of service and cleanliness
