We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a highly acclaimed upscale Italian dining concept. This individual will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain exceptional culinary standards, and help lead a high-performing culinary team.
The ideal candidate possesses a passion for scratch cooking, strong leadership skills, and experience working in chef-driven, high-volume upscale restaurants.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations.
• Lead and develop line cooks and prep staff through hands-on coaching and training.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items.
• Monitor food costs, waste, inventory, and ordering procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards throughout the kitchen.
• Assist with scheduling, labor management, and team development.
• Execute service at a high level during busy dinner and weekend periods.
• Support menu execution and seasonal menu changes.
• Foster a positive, professional, and accountable kitchen culture.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of Sous Chef experience in an upscale or fine dining environment.
• Strong scratch kitchen experience.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate kitchen teams.
• Knowledge of food costing, inventory control, and labor management.
• Strong understanding of sanitation and food safety standards.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
• Culinary degree preferred but not required.
