A growing New England civil construction firm is seeking a Field Operations Leader to help strengthen field execution, improve operational structure, and support the company’s next phase of growth. This role will partner directly with ownership and project leadership to drive accountability, improve project performance, and scale operations across multiple infrastructure projects.

Field Operations Leader – Benefits and Compensation

• Base salary approximately $150,000

• Annual bonus tied to company profitability

Field Operations Leader – Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of construction operations leadership experience

• Experience overseeing multiple active construction projects simultaneously

• Strong background in heavy civil, infrastructure, utilities, or mechanical systems construction

• Experience leading field teams including superintendents, foremen, and project managers

• Strong experience with project scheduling, cost control, and operational oversight

• OSHA 10 certification required

• Ability to lead both in the field and in operational planning environments

• Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and field crews across multiple job sites

• Track project performance through KPIs such as schedule adherence, labor efficiency, equipment utilization, and gross margin performance

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Leading field operations across multiple infrastructure and civil construction projects

• Coordinating project schedules, staffing plans, and resource allocation

• Driving operational accountability across project managers, superintendents, and field teams

• Supporting budgeting, cost control, and project performance tracking

• Managing subcontractor and vendor relationships across active job sites

• Supporting operational improvements, systems, and project management tools

• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget

Field Operations Leader – Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience working on municipal infrastructure, water/wastewater systems, or utility construction projects

• Experience supporting estimating or bidding processes

• Familiarity with construction ERP or project management systems (Sage300 or similar platforms)

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus

• Experience working in a growing construction organization improving operational processes

• Leadership style that is hands-on, process-oriented, and team focused

• Experience working closely with ownership or executive leadership to scale operations
