Location: Greenville/Rockford, MI | Full-Time | ON-SITE
A growing, high-performance manufacturer supporting premium refrigeration product lines is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to help drive operational excellence and support production growth. This role is ideal for a project-driven engineer who enjoys working both on the shop floor and behind the scenes to improve processes, support new product introductions, and optimize manufacturing performance.

What You’ll Do as a Manufacturing Engineer
• Lead manufacturing training initiatives and develop structured onboarding and certification programs
• Create and maintain work instructions supporting Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation
• Communicate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and ensure updates are implemented on the production floor
• Serve as liaison between production and engineering to drive process improvements
• Design and optimize production and assembly line layouts using Lean manufacturing principles
• Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to improve productivity and eliminate waste
• Improve line balancing and throughput to reduce bottlenecks and increase efficiency
• Support new product introductions by building products alongside production teams and validating manufacturability
• Analyze production metrics and KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
• Support capital equipment planning, tooling procurement, and vendor coordination
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and manufacturing safety standards
What You Bring as a Manufacturing Engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or assembly environment
• Experience managing manufacturing projects and process improvement initiatives
• Background supporting new product introductions
• Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience designing production and assembly layouts
• CAD software experience (SolidWorks preferred)
• Familiarity with BOM structures and engineering documentation
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
