The General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of store performance, including sales growth, financial management, team development, merchandising, customer experience, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead all daily store operations and ensure exceptional customer service
- Manage department managers and hourly team members across all store functions
- Drive sales, profitability, labor management, and expense control
- Maintain accountability for P&L performance and key operational metrics
- Develop and execute merchandising, inventory, and promotional strategies
- Manage staffing, recruiting, training, coaching, and succession planning
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards
- Monitor inventory levels, shrink, and product quality
- Build relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and customers
- Create a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and service
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- 5+ years of grocery, food retail, or high-volume retail management experience
- Previous General Manager, Store Manager, Store Director, or multi-department leadership experience
- Strong understanding of grocery operations, merchandising, labor management, and inventory control
- Proven experience managing P&L performance and operational budgets
- Demonstrated success in developing and leading high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Passion for serving the community and creating a positive customer experience
- Experience with Produce, Meat, Deli, Bakery, or Fresh Departments preferred
