Corporate Tax Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (Master’s, JD, or LLM in Tax a plus)
- 8+ years of experience in tax planning and audit support, preferably in corporate or international tax
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation, or experience in M&A tax, preferred
- Experience with transfer pricing regulations and OECD guidelines a plus
- Strong English communication skills; Mandarin proficiency strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and attend meetings across time zones
- Advanced analytical, decision-making, and communication abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting/financial management software; ERP systems experience is a plus
Corporate Tax Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with U.S. Section 41 R&D Tax Credit, tariffs, customs, withholding, and VAT rules
- Understanding of international tax compliance, particularly in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with transfer pricing documentation and cross-border transaction analysis
Corporate Tax Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate and plant location tax returns (including Form 1120), ensuring compliance with all regulations
- Oversee monthly and annual tax provision calculations and journal entries
- Analyze and reconcile income tax payable balances, tax projections, and risk assessments
- Support audits, maintain accurate tax records, and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to management
- Contribute to tax planning for M&A, greenfield projects, and entity structure optimization
- Advise on financial models, loan agreements, and structuring from a tax perspective
- Foster relationships with external tax advisors and support various projects as assigned
