Sales and Events Manager – Chicago, IL

Sales and Events Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of event sales experience in Chicago restaurant events
- Demonstrated ability to independently source and close event business
- Strong understanding of BEO setup and execution
- Exceptional communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
- In-depth knowledge of menu planning, staffing, and forecasting for events
Sales and Events Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience in steakhouses, sushi, or independent fine dining restaurants
- Familiarity with the Chicago dining and events market
- Creativity in event design and execution
- Comfortable networking with VIPs, high-net-worth clients, and community leaders
Sales and Events Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Drive event sales from prospecting and networking through to contracting and hands-on execution
- Build relationships with local businesses, VIP guests, and key event partners to generate repeat business
- Design, coordinate, and oversee private dining, buyouts, and large-scale catering opportunities
- Serve as the on-site lead and face of the brand for VIP and high-profile functions, providing a personal touch
- Train and support in-restaurant teams to deliver elevated guest experiences and maintain event standards
- Strategically identify and secure untapped catering and offsite event opportunities to grow revenue
