An established transportation manufacturer is seeking a Design Engineer, Mechanical – EV to collaborate with experienced engineers and develop innovative design solutions for electric vehicle systems. This role works directly on EV powertrain integration, mechanical system design, and cross-functional product development in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Design Engineer, Mechanical – EV | What You Will Do
- Collaborate with senior engineers to create and refine detailed design models and drawings
- Produce designs, drawings, and test documentation to define mechanical system and component specifications
- Read and apply FMVSS, State, and customer requirements to design decisions
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive technical feedback
- Support troubleshooting and root cause resolution for design performance issues
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and product teams to ensure design feasibility
- Stay current with EV technology trends, materials, and manufacturing processes
Design Engineer, Mechanical – EV | What You Bring
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- 5 years of engineering experience with 2 years of EV powertrain integration
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, or equivalent engineering tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required
