Employment Law Arbitration Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of employment law experience, with a strong track record in wage and hour class, PAGA, and arbitration matters
- Demonstrated success leading legal teams or mentoring junior attorneys
- Proven ability to manage high-volume or mass arbitrations, from case intake through resolution
- Expert knowledge of arbitration forums and rules, especially AAA and JAMS mass arbitration protocols
- Strong legal writing, advocacy, and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational skills with experience overseeing team performance
- Proactive, collaborative mindset and commitment to process improvement
Employment Law Arbitration Preferred Background & Skills
- Deep expertise in the California Labor Code (especially §§ 201–203, 226, 510, 558, 1194) and related employee rights statutes
- Previous experience optimizing legal workflows, templates, or systems for large caseloads
- Background successfully handling complex or high-value arbitration hearings
Employment Law Arbitration Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mass arbitration cases, with a primary focus on wage and hour violations
- Develop case strategies, evaluate damages, and drive outcomes using applicable labor statutes
- Oversee all phases of arbitration, including discovery, brief drafting, preparation, and hearings
- Review and ensure accuracy of all legal documents, including arbitration demands and settlement agreements
- Coordinate with intake, pre-litigation, and operations teams for case readiness and smooth transitions
- Monitor and enforce compliance with arbitration provider protocols, particularly for batch or mass arbitrations
- Contribute to strategic decisions and represent the firm in hearings as needed
