Role Overview
Our client, a fast-growing chemical manufacturer serving the construction industry, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead all financial operations and provide strategic guidance to the executive team. This role oversees the full financial spectrum—from accounting, cash management, and reporting to strategic planning and performance analysis—ensuring financial accuracy, disciplined cash flow, and data-driven decisions that enable sustainable growth and operational excellence.
VP of Finance – Key Responsibilities
- Partner with executive leadership to shape financial strategy and business initiatives such as pricing, profitability, capital investment, and expansion.
- Oversee all financial management, reporting, and accounting operations, including financial statements, KPI dashboards, budgets, and forecasts.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure liquidity and optimize financial performance.
- Maintain strong internal controls, compliance with GAAP and company policies, audit and risk management.
- Lead and develop the finance team, including AR, AP, and cost control functions.
- Oversee debtor-creditor relationships.
- Manage select vendor relationships related to HR services and payroll administration.
VP of Finance – Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
- Proven proficiency in GAAP, cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft GP, SAP, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing organization.
- Understands manufacturing, preferably chemicals.
VP of Finance – Preferred Background & Skills
- Background in chemical manufacturing or industrial products environments strongly preferred.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
