Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Asian or high-end restaurant
- Prior experience as a sous chef or in a kitchen leadership role
- Strong technical knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen operations
Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills
- Creativity in menu planning and a keen eye for presentation
- Experience training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
- Familiarity with inventing and implementing seasonal specials
- Ability to collaborate with bar teams for food and beverage pairings
Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Lead and mentor kitchen staff to ensure high standards and teamwork
- Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to achieve profitability
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Contribute to new menu development and seasonal menu rotations
- Step in for the Executive Chef when needed to oversee service and kitchen management
