Restaurant General Manager – Must Relocate to Washington DC
An established, high-volume upscale restaurant and bar is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a flagship operation known for exceptional hospitality, strong financial performance, and a vibrant dining atmosphere. The Role
- Direct all front-of-house operations with a focus on hospitality excellence, execution, and consistency
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large management team and hourly workforce
- Establish and maintain exceptional guest service standards across lunch, dinner, brunch, bar, and late-night operations
- Drive financial performance through disciplined labor management, forecasting, scheduling, and cost controls
- Oversee hiring, training, coaching, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives
- Partner closely with culinary leadership to ensure seamless execution and alignment between front- and back-of-house teams
- Create a culture of accountability, professionalism, and hospitality-driven leadership
- Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and operational standards
- Analyze operational metrics and implement strategies that improve guest satisfaction, employee retention, and profitability
The Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of experience as a General Manager in a large-scale, upscale restaurant environment
- Demonstrated success leading operations generating more than $7 million in annual revenue
- Experience managing restaurants with 500+ seats and teams of 100+ employees
- Strong background overseeing high-volume bar, dining, and late-night service operations
- Proven ability to maintain elevated service standards in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L performance, labor costs, budgets, forecasting, and operational controls
- Skilled in team development, performance management, and building a culture of accountability
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Hands-on, visible leadership style with the ability to thrive under pressure
