Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily yard operations and manage a team of two employees
- Maintain accurate scrap inventory levels and ensure timely outbound shipments
- Operate material handlers and loaders as needed to load trucks and move material
- Coordinate outbound loads and communicate with transportation providers
- Schedule and track preventative maintenance (PMs) for yard equipment
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and coordinate repairs when necessary
- Ensure yard organization, cleanliness, and safe material handling practices
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and operational procedures
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in scrap, recycling, or industrial yard operations
- Hands-on experience operating material handlers and loaders
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to identify equipment issues
- Strong understanding of scrap flow, inventory management, and shipping processes
- Comfortable working in a small-team environment where leadership and execution go hand-in-hand
- Ability to lift, climb, and work outdoors in all weather conditions
