Life Safety & Security Sales Rep

We are partnering with a growing life safety organization seeking a driven sales professional to expand its presence throughout the Detroit market. This opportunity is ideal for someone who understands commercial construction, enjoys working with contractors and engineers, and has experience selling engineered fire alarm and low-voltage solutions.
This position will focus on developing new business, cultivating contractor partnerships, identifying project opportunities, and helping customers implement code-compliant life safety systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- $100,000 annualized compensation during the first 6 months
- Transition to $50,000 base salary plus uncapped commission after 6 months
- Monthly vehicle allowance plus mileage reimbursement

What You'll Do as a Life Safety & Security Sales Rep
- Develop business relationships with electrical contractors, engineers, consultants, and facility owners
- Generate new opportunities within commercial construction, retrofit, and renovation projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify project opportunities
- Prepare project scopes, estimates, and solution-based proposals
- Promote fire alarm, life safety, and integrated low-voltage solutions
- Support customers throughout the sales cycle, from opportunity identification through project award
- Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and territory strategy
- Participate in networking events, industry meetings, and customer presentations
Ideal Background for Our Life Safety & Security Sales Rep
- Experience selling commercial fire alarm, life safety, security, or low-voltage systems
- Knowledge of bid/spec projects and commercial construction processes
- Experience reviewing plans, specifications, and project documentation
- Familiarity with engineered fire alarm systems and life safety applications
- Existing contractor, consultant, or end-user relationships within the Detroit market preferred
- Understanding of NFPA codes and industry standards
