Electrical Engineer Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in electrical design for commercial, government, academic, or industrial projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience with SKM or lighting design software (AGI, Visual, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
- EIT and LEED accreditation preferred
Electrical Engineer Preferred Background & Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects
- Experience with business development or marketing engineering services
Electrical Engineer Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design complex electrical systems aligned with latest code and engineering standards
- Develop and oversee project construction documents and specifications
- Conduct load studies, voltage drop calculations, and lighting layouts
- Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Conduct field visits to accurately document existing site conditions
- Attend meetings for project coordination and ongoing design collaboration
- Address comments and make design adjustments from clients and reviewing authorities
- Stay current with industry codes, standards, and software tools
