Sous Chef – New Upscale Restaurant Opening | Philadelphia
A highly anticipated, high-volume upscale restaurant is opening in Philadelphia, and we are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the opening leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a flagship launch and help build the kitchen culture, standards, and systems from the ground up. We’re looking for a strong, hands-on culinary leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about quality and team development.
Position Overview
The Sous Chef will partner with the Executive Chef to oversee all back-of-house operations, ensuring consistency, execution, food safety, and team performance. This role plays a key part in daily kitchen leadership and long-term operational success.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and line execution
- Lead, train, and develop culinary team members
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, scheduling, and food cost control
- Support hiring and onboarding for the opening team
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable kitchen culture
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Sous Chef experience
- Proven leadership experience in fast-paced environments
- Strong culinary technique and attention to detail
- Opening experience preferred
- Ability to manage labor and food cost controls
- Professional, hands-on leadership style
