General Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5–10 years of upscale restaurant management experience, including senior leadership roles in a high-volume fine dining environment.
- Proven experience with steakhouse, chophouse, or upscale dining concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of new restaurant openings.
- Experience leading teams of 100+ employees in restaurants with projected annual sales of $5M.
- Strong P&L management skills and success meeting financial targets.
- Availability to work a 6–7 day work week for the first three months after opening, transitioning to 6 days in peak season
- Willingness and ability to travel for initial training prior to restaurant opening.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee all front- and back-of-house operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop a team.
- Drive outstanding service and maintain luxury hospitality standards.
- Manage restaurant P&L, budgets, forecasting, and inventory to achieve growth and profitability.
- Partner closely with the culinary and beverage teams to ensure quality and consistency.
- Build partnerships within the local community to enhance the restaurant’s market presence.
- Lead by example and champion a culture of accountability, communication, and team engagement.
