Our client is seeking a mid-level Healthcare Associate with 3-5 years of experience and a strong background in those aspects of health regulatory law applicable to the health care and life sciences industries including fraud and abuse, HIPAA, corporate practice of medicine, licensing, reimbursement, and assisting with the regulatory diligence and structuring of corporate transactions. As part of the team, the successful candidate will be exposed to counseling telehealth and digital health companies as well. Our Healthcare practice works in partnership with companies and investors across the healthcare and life sciences industries, including regulatory and compliance counseling, transactions, investigations, and development of compliance programs. Candidates must have experience working on healthcare transactions, including in the private equity, M&A, and investment areas. Experience in a law firm environment is required; government experience at CMS, OCR, or DOJ is a plus. Candidates must have excellent academic credentials and possess superior analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, and have the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
This position is open for the Washington, D.C. or New York offices of DLA Piper, with a strong preference for Washington, D.C.
Education
- JD from an accredited law school
Bar Admission
- Licensed to practice in DC or NY
Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm preferred, but not required.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail. Good business and professional judgment. Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
