Accounting Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years of accounting/finance management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of, and ability to apply, GAAP standards
- Experience with general ledger management and account reconciliation
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Proven ability to work effectively with colleagues and regulatory personnel
- Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel
- Experience with or ability to learn timekeeping and payroll systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming Commission license and pass background check and drug screening
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective leadership and customer service orientation
Accounting Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with Great Plains accounting system and FRx Report Writer
- Knowledge of gaming regulatory requirements including NIGC, MICS, and Oklahoma State Compact
- Leadership experience mentoring or developing team members
Accounting Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor team members, promoting growth and maintaining a positive, team-oriented environment
- Lead daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Oversee and ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
- Recommend and implement economic strategies and financial policies
- Participate in business planning sessions and financial reviews with management
- Support operational budgets, compliance, and reporting to regulatory agencies
- Assist in managing property cash flows and coordinating audits
- Provide ongoing training and support for team members on payroll and timekeeping systems
