A respected civil engineering firm is looking to add a Design Engineer to its team. This position suits an engineer who enjoys staying close to the technical work, contributing immediately to active projects, and collaborating within a small, highly engaged group.
Role Overview
- Take the lead on transportation design efforts while mentoring and supporting junior engineers
- Develop both preliminary and final design plans and technical deliverables
- Contribute to projects involving roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction, intersections, traffic signal systems, roundabouts, drainage, and shared-use paths
- Apply INDOT, LPA, and AASHTO standards throughout all phases of project delivery
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Active Indiana PE license or ability to obtain licensure within six months
- 4–8 years of experience in transportation engineering
- Strong familiarity with INDOT standards, processes, and design criteria
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Comfortable joining ongoing projects and contributing with minimal onboarding
Preferred Experience
- Traffic signal and/or roundabout design
- Drainage design and utility coordination
- Sidewalk, curb ramp, or multi-use path design
