Chief Engineer Requirements:
- This role will be ~70% Hotel Engineering & ~30% shared services (i.e. – associate housing maintenance and several high end rental properties
- Observe and adhere to all safety and security procedures, promoting a safe work environment.
- Provide proper safety and security training for staff.
- Demonstrate initiative by seeking out new assignments and assuming additional duties when necessary.
- Undertake self-development activities to enhance technical and leadership skills.
- Include appropriate stakeholders in decision-making processes.
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit and demonstrate effective teamwork.
- Work effectively with other departments to accomplish shared goals.
- Deliver high-quality service to internal and external customers.
- Handle difficult guests and staff situations with professionalism and tact.
- Delegate work assignments and follow up to ensure timely completion.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written formats.
- Practice attentive and active listening with all employees.
- Perform work independently with little or no supervision.
- Follow instructions and respond promptly to management direction.
Chief Engineer Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager in a luxury hotel or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and kneeling.
- Comfortable working in indoor/outdoor environments with moderate to high noise levels and occasional work in high-level areas (roofs, decks, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
