Non-Ferrous Scrap Yard Manager
Currently seeking a Non-Ferrous Scrap Metal Manager to take charge of purchasing, processing, and day-to-day operations in a fast-paced yard. Key Responsibilities for Non-Ferrous Manager
- Oversee daily operations of the non-ferrous division, including purchasing, processing, grading, and outbound sales
- Develop and execute buying strategies to grow volume and margin
- Manage, train, and mentor yard personnel and sorters to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient material handling
- Maintain and expand relationships with dealers, peddlers, industrial accounts, and downstream consumers
- Coordinate shipments, logistics, and inventory control to maximize turns and cash flow
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Monitor market trends and pricing to stay competitive and protect margin
Qualifications for Non-Ferrous Manager
- 5–10+ years of experience in non-ferrous scrap or recycling
- Deep knowledge of non-ferrous grades, specifications, and market pricing
- Proven success buying and selling non-ferrous scrap profitably
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and hold teams accountable
- Comfortable in a hands-on yard environment with a strong operational mindset
