San Diego, CA | $120K–$145K | Bonus + Profit Sharing
Established fire protection contractor is seeking a Fire Protection Design Manager to lead a growing design team supporting large commercial and retrofit projects throughout the San Diego market.
This is a leadership role overseeing design production, team development, project coordination, and quality control for water-based fire protection systems. The project portfolio is focused on commercial and retrofit work with a strong pipeline of backlog and long-term growth.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and support a team of fire sprinkler designers
- Oversee layouts, hydraulic calculations, and shop drawing production
- Manage design schedules, priorities, and project workflow
- Maintain QA/QC standards and ensure code compliance
- Coordinate with PMs, field teams, contractors, and customers
- Mentor and develop design personnel while improving department efficiency
- Support technical problem-solving and project execution from design through completion
What We’re Looking For
- Leadership experience within fire sprinkler or fire protection design
- Strong commercial fire sprinkler design background
- Knowledge of NFPA standards and water-based systems
- NICET certification preferred
- Experience with AutoSPRINK, AutoCAD, Revit, or related software
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
Compensation & Growth
- $120K–$145K base salary depending on experience
- Three bonus opportunities including profit sharing
