Safety Coordinator Requirements & Qualifications
- Direct experience in commercial electrical construction safety, specifically with contractor firms (not corporate settings)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and electrical safety standards
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Data center and/or healthcare construction experience strongly preferred
- CHST, STS, or CSP certifications preferred
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Safety Coordinator Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with electrical construction projects
- Ability to coordinate with multiple contractors and trades
- Background in supporting project-site safety for complex, high-expectation environments
Safety Coordinator Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and audits for electrical construction activities
- Ensure all activities comply with OSHA, NFPA, client-specific, and company standards
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing field safety training sessions
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; document findings and implement corrective actions
- Monitor compliance with PPE usage, fall protection, LOTO procedures, and confined space protocols
- Coordinate with general contractors, owners, and other trades to maintain safe work environments
- Assist project teams with Job Hazard Analyses, pre-task planning, and risk mitigation
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, compliance records, permits, and reports
- Support emergency response planning and participate in regular safety meetings
- Travel between multiple local project sites as needed
