Lead Hotel Engineer – Boston, MA

Lead Engineer Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel environment
- Previous hotel management experience in engineering/maintenance is required
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
- Basic computer proficiency with work order systems, email, and spreadsheets
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
Lead Engineer Preferred Background & Skills
- Previous Chief Engineer or Lead Engineer experience
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Lead Engineer Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operation and maintenance of all building systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety
- Lead preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms and public spaces to ensure excellent condition
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and team members
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers, including project oversight
- Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards, safety codes, and local/state/federal regulations
- Guide, train, and supervise the maintenance team while promoting a culture of safety and service
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for savings
