Director of Business Development Requirements & Qualifications
- 8+ years of healthcare sales, provider relations, physician liaison, referral development, or outreach experience
- 5+ years leading teams focused on referral generation/business development
- Demonstrated success managing field-based, multi-state sales teams
- Strong experience with territory management and team coaching, including ride-alongs and field training
- Proficiency with CRM and data-driven outreach strategies
- Proven ability to recruit, onboard, develop, and hold teams accountable
- Comfortable operating in a rapidly evolving, growth-oriented setting
Director of Business Development Preferred Background & Skills
- Leadership roles in physician liaison, provider relations, referral development, or healthcare outreach
- Experience with multi-site outpatient healthcare, behavioral health, physical therapy, fertility, or specialty clinics
- Familiarity with provider office visits, territory design, and referral-based sales processes
- Strong communicator who thrives on building new systems and scalable processes
Director of Business Development Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to build and deepen physician referral relationships across multiple markets
- Lead and coach a growing team of field-based physician liaison representatives, including regular ride-alongs and accountability meetings
- Design territory plans, market-entry strategies, and scalable referral generation systems
- Collaborate with marketing and operations to optimize provider engagement and referral conversion
- Use data, CRM insights, and performance metrics to drive referral volume and prioritize high-value opportunities
- Recruit, onboard, and develop team members while establishing a culture of learning, execution, and growth
Travel is required for this role, with primary location in Atlanta, GA (in office).
