Journeyman Installation Technician Requirements & Qualifications:
Must Haves
- Active Journeyman HVAC license
- 5+ years of hands-on HVAC installation experience
- EPA Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems including furnaces, ACs, heat pumps, ductwork, and ventilation
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Install complete HVAC systems in residential and light commercial environments
- Perform system start-ups, testing, and calibration to ensure proper performance
- Modify and fabricate ductwork as needed for proper airflow and system efficiency
- Ensure all work meets local codes, manufacturer specs, and safety standards
- Troubleshoot installation issues and make real-time adjustments in the field
- Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding system operation and best practices
- Maintain a clean, organized truck and safe job site
- Complete installation documentation and job records accurately
Journeyman Installation Technician Preferred Background & Skills:
