Accounting Manager
Location: Hybrid (In-Office and Remote)
Industry: Professional Services / Accounting (Hospitality Industry Focus)
Seeking an Accounting Manager to join a growing accounting firm specializing in consulting and full-service accounting for restaurant industry clients. This role is responsible for overseeing client financial reporting, managing accounting staff, and serving as a key point of contact for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and manage accounting team members, both onsite and remote
- Review periodic financial reports prepared by staff to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance
- Prepare and review client financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and budget comparisons
- Develop and deliver client dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger integrity
- Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payables scheduling, and check and ACH payments
- Ensure adherence to internal controls designed to mitigate risk
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, managing relationships and addressing urgent or unexpected matters as they arise
- Support technology initiatives, including implementation and optimization of accounting software
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Three to five years of general accounting experience required
- CPA license preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proven ability to manage and develop accounting staff
- Exceptional client service and communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Systems Experience
- Proficiency with accounting software and paperless workflows required
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience implementing or adapting to new financial systems strongly preferred
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid in-office and remote environment. Occasional overtime may be required during month-end close, audits, or peak reporting periods.
