As a lead Field Service Technician 2, you will spearhead the deployment and field-level maintenance of critical communication networks. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who can translate complex customer requirements into high-performance wireless solutions.
Field Service Technician 2 Responsibilities:
- Lead the integration and testing of Indoor Coverage Solutions (BDA/DAS) to ensure seamless connectivity in challenging environments.
- Develop and implement Subscriber Programming (12+ Channels), including complex Trunked configurations and Multi-Zone logic.
- Install and maintain a diverse range of hardware (e.g. UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz Systems, Dispatch Consoles, Microwave Systems, Wireless Broadband Devices, CCTV Equipment).
- Act as a technical advisor to clients, recommending hardware upgrades and system optimizations that improve operational efficiency.
- Some regional and/or overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
Field Service Technician 2 Requirements & Certifications:
- BDA/DAS Systems experience is essential.
- Valid FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) is highly prioritized.
- Advanced proficiency or certification in APCO Project 25 (P25) digital standards.
- Understands Two-Way Radio Theory and RF Propagation Characteristics at Various Frequency Bands
- Solid understanding of LMR fundamentals with a working knowledge of IP-based networking and VOIP protocols.
- Competent Operating Test Equipment (Communications Service Monitors, Wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, Multimeters)
- LMR experience needed
- IP Networking Experience a Plus
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- CERTIFICATIONS:
- ASTRO 25 IV&D Secure Communications certified; experienced in designing, configuring, and validating encrypted P25 public safety systems.
- ASTRO 25 IV&D GTR 8000 Repeater Site certified; skilled in installing, integrating, and troubleshooting GTR 8000 P25 infrastructure across UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz bands.
- MCC 7000 Series Dispatch Consoles certified; experienced supporting IP-based 911 and public safety dispatch operations.
- Networking Essentials (Motorola) certified; strong working knowledge of IP networking supporting LMR, P25, and BDA/DAS systems.
- Drug screenings, motor vehicle records, and background checks are part of the hiring process.
- Must have a valid driver's license and pass standard background/drug screenings for site access.
