Assistant Director of Catering & Events Requirements & Qualifications
- 2–3 years of leadership or management experience (assistant manager, events lead, or similar)
- 2+ years in hospitality, catering, private dining, or events
- Back of house and kitchen experience strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- TABC Certification and Texas Food Handlers Certification (manager certification preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Availability for weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
Assistant Director of Catering & Events Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with R365, Square, or Tripleseat
- Strong leadership presence and a team-focused mentality
- Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills
- Business-minded with a passion for hospitality and growth
- Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic planning
Assistant Director of Catering & Events Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Act as a key partner and extension of the Director of Catering
- Lead, coordinate, and oversee event execution, logistics, and staffing for a variety of catering events
- Serve as the primary contact for select clients and high-profile events
- Drive sales through relationship-building, outreach, and promotional initiatives
- Support event forecasting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Train, mentor, and coach event staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service
- Step in as departmental lead when required, ensuring operational excellence and organizational standards
