A growing facilities services company in the Baton Rouge area is seeking a hands-on Area Manager to oversee custodial, environmental services, and facility teams across multiple client locations.
This is a field-based leadership role for someone who is comfortable being on-site, walking facilities daily, managing staff schedules, conducting inspections, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and service. This is not a desk job — this is a working manager role.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and support hourly custodial / facilities staff
- Conduct routine facility walk-throughs and quality inspections
- Hire, train, schedule, and coach team members
- Ensure coverage for staffing needs and call-offs
- Maintain equipment and supply readiness
- Travel between facilities in the Baton Rouge area (~25%)
Ideal Backgrounds
- Environmental Services (EVS) / Custodial / Janitorial
- Facilities or Building Maintenance
- Property or Apartment Management
- Hospitality or Housekeeping Management
- Landscaping or Grounds Management
- School or healthcare facility support services
Qualifications
- 5+ years of team leadership experience
- Experience managing staff schedules and daily operations
- Experience conducting inspections and enforcing cleanliness standards
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Compensation & Benefits
$60,000–$70,000 base salary with flexibility for strong experience
