Maintenance Mechanic Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment in a heavy industrial setting
- Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Must provide your own basic mechanic tools (specialty tools are supplied)
- Experience servicing mobile and large stationary equipment
- Exposure to basic machining operations and equipment repair
- Welding and fabrication abilities
Maintenance Mechanic Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and boost performance
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests from production teams
- Collaborate with team members to solve maintenance challenges and support plant operations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Follow all safety procedures and regulatory protocols
