Commercial Lines Insurance Producer Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of licensed commercial line sales experience
- Active property and casualty insurance license
- In-depth knowledge of commercial lines, including general liability, workers’ compensation, E&O, D&O, professional liability, and commercial auto
Commercial Lines Insurance Producer Preferred Background & Skills
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills
- Ability to analyze complex insurance needs and provide tailored solutions
- Proficient with computers and industry-related software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience prioritizing work and maintaining accurate records
Commercial Lines Insurance Producer Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate leads through referrals, networking, and targeted outreach
- Network with centers of influence to develop new business opportunities
- Conduct outbound calls and send emails to engage potential clients in both commercial and personal lines
- Consult with clients to identify needs, recommend coverage options, and clearly explain policy terms and benefits
- Prepare and present accurate, customized insurance quotes
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to support satisfaction and retention
- Close sales and consistently achieve or exceed targets
- Stay current with insurance regulations, industry trends, and evolving products
- Complete administrative tasks, including processing applications and maintaining detailed client records
