Catering Event Sales Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma and either 2+ years of related sales or event industry experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong negotiation, communication, and networking abilities
- Ability to thrive under pressure and multitask
- Working knowledge of event/wedding industry practices and sales principles
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Familiarity with sales and event management software (e.g., Caterease) preferred
- Organized, creative, and comfortable with a variety of religious and cultural customs
Catering Sales Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with catering or venue sales platforms
- Exposure to diverse client backgrounds and event traditions
Catering Sales Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and generate leads through effective outreach
- Schedule and conduct tours of event venues, converting them into bookings
- Develop and present customized proposals to meet client needs
- Negotiate and secure client contracts, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed
- Upsell and cross-sell company services and products
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions and sales activity
- Support clients through every step, providing exceptional service and follow-up
- Collaborate closely with event operations teams to ensure seamless client experiences
- Achieve or exceed pre-set monthly sales quotas and reporting requirements
- Stay informed about industry trends and venue developments
