We are essentially looking for a Senior Robotics Mechatronics Engineer with deep mechatronics and embedded firmware expertise who can own an entire 1–6 DOF electromechanical system from motor drives and electronics through kinematics, firmware, validation, and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities

 

Robotic Motion & Kinematics Development

·         Design, develop, and optimize 1–6DOF robotic systems with a strong focus on rotational motion and articulated mechanisms

·         Develop and tune: Forward and inverse kinematics, Trajectory generation and motion planning, Servo loops and closed-loop motion control, Calibration and dynamic system compensation

·         Analyze robotic motion performance, accuracy, repeatability, and stability across complex movement profiles

 

Embedded Controls & System Architecture

·         Architect and maintain robotic, electrical, and control systems end-to-end, including: Motion controllers, Servo drives, Actuators, Encoders and feedback systems, Sensors and instrumentation

·         Develop (write code), debug, and maintain embedded firmware for motion control platforms using C/C++

·         Collaborate with external PCB and electronics manufacturing partners on schematic reviews and custom PCBA development

 

Cross-Functional Engineering & Production Support

·         Partner with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle

·         Develop test fixtures, calibration procedures, and diagnostic tools

·         Create and maintain ISO-compliant engineering and manufacturing documentation

·         Manage electrical subsystem lifecycle support, including BOM obsolescence and hardware refresh initiatives

 

Required Qualifications

·         BS or MS in Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field

·         7+ years of experience designing, developing, or sustaining robotic or multi-axis motion systems

·         Deep expertise in: Kinematics and inverse kinematics, Trajectory planning, Closed-loop servo control, Real-time embedded motion systems

·         Hands-on experience with: Servo motors and drives, Encoders and feedback systems, multi-axis rotational motion systems, Embedded firmware development in C/C++

·         Strong understanding of robotic system integration and motion performance optimization

·         Comfortable reviewing schematics and interfacing with contract manufacturers for custom electronics development

·         Strong hands-on embedded software development experience in C/C++ for real-time robotic or motion-control systems

·         Experience developing firmware tightly coupled to custom electronics, motor drives, sensors, and actuator systems

·         Experience with: Biomechanics, Surgical robotics, medical devices, Simulation or test systems

 

Highly Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with: Xilinx FPGAs, Industrial real-time communication protocols, Functional safety, and regulated environments

Knowledge of: ISO 13849-1, ISO 13485, IEC 60601 standards

Experience with low-noise analog signal conditioning and acquisition system
