We are seeking a construction litigation attorney with significant experience in both construction contracts and construction-related disputes. This role involves leading complex matters, advising sophisticated clients, and contributing to the growth of the firm’s construction practice through business development and client leadership.
Construction Attorney Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on standard form and custom construction contracts, including AIA and ConsensusDocs agreements.
- Lead construction-related litigation, arbitration, mediation, and administrative proceedings from inception through resolution.
- Handle a wide range of construction claims, including delay, inefficiency, defect, warranty, design, lien, and bond matters.
- Manage files, budgets, litigation teams, and client relationships with a high level of autonomy.
- Actively participate in business development efforts and help grow the construction law practice.
Construction Attorney Requirements:
- 8 to 15 years of significant experience practicing construction law.
- Material experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts and handling construction claims.
- Demonstrated lead responsibility in trials, arbitrations, or other dispute resolution proceedings.
- Strong research, writing, advocacy, and client-management skills.
- Admission to the Michigan bar is required.
