A growing food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily operations within a high-volume confectionery production environment. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on production efficiency, food safety, inventory management, and team development within a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate will bring strong food production leadership experience, ERP system knowledge, and a passion for operational excellence. Experience in bakery, confectionery, or food manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily production operations from raw ingredient receiving through final packaging
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and operational goals
- Oversee inventory accuracy, production orders, and workflow management within ERP systems
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, FSMA, and all food safety regulations
- Monitor product quality, consistency, yield, and waste reduction initiatives
- Train, mentor, and develop production teams while driving accountability and performance
- Establish and track KPIs to improve operational efficiency and productivity
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and minimize equipment downtime
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production process
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of food production management experience
- Background in confectionery, bakery, or food manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong ERP experience; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a major plus
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FDA, and food safety standards
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Strong analytical, operational, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in high-volume production environments preferred

- Lean Manufacturing / 5S methodologies
- Scaling production operations and process improvement
- Understanding of confectionery or sugar-based production processes
