Position Summary
The Overnight Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all third-shift warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping activities. This role leads and develops overnight warehouse staff while maintaining safety, productivity, accuracy, and operational standards in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all overnight warehouse operations and personnel.
- Supervise receiving, stocking, picking, packing, loading, and shipping activities.
- Ensure productivity goals, accuracy standards, and shipping deadlines are achieved.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, HACCP guidelines, and food safety regulations when applicable.
- Conduct shift meetings and provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
- Monitor labor scheduling and staffing levels to meet operational demands.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational issues.
- Coordinate with transportation, operations, and day-shift leadership teams to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and equipment standards.
- Track KPIs such as productivity, order accuracy, shrink, and on-time deliveries.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
- Utilize Oracle and warehouse management systems (WMS) to manage inventory, reporting, and operational workflow.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of warehouse leadership or distribution management experience.
- Experience managing overnight or high-volume operations preferred.
- Working knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety compliance.
- Experience utilizing Oracle systems and warehouse management software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse reporting systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working in varying warehouse temperatures and environments.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
