Senior Electrical Design Engineer Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline preferred
- 5+ years of electrical design experience in control panel manufacturing, switchgear, power distribution, or system integration
- Proficiency with EPLAN Electric P8
- Hands-on UL 508A panel design experience under documented shop procedures
- Strong knowledge of UL 508A standards and electrical design principles
- Track record creating electrical schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and engineering documentation
- Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Senior Electrical Design Engineer Preferred Background & Skills
- Proficiency with EPLAN Pro Panel
- Exposure to UL 891 type-testing and switchboard design
- Active UL 508A MTR credential
- Experience with custom panel design for data centers or critical infrastructure
- History of working in smaller, hands-on engineering teams
Senior Electrical Design Engineer Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, terminal plans, and documentation using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel
- Develop and maintain standard libraries, templates, and design assets to support consistent high-quality production
- Lead custom designs for UL 508A control panels and UL 891 switchboards, ensuring compliance with UL requirements
- Oversee and approve all product designs, technical documentation, and component selection
- Engage in engineering design reviews and provide technical leadership during customer engagements and UL audits
- Support manufacturing teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and drive continual improvement in standards and processes
- Mentor and help onboard new technical team members, fostering a strong technical culture across all locations
