Director of Technical Operations – Atlanta, GA

This is an impactful role directly reporting to the CEO, where you will shape technical standards, compliance, and capability development across multiple production sites.
Director of Technical Operations Benefits & Compensation
- Competitive base salary ($145,000–$160,000, target offer $152,000)
- Annual bonus (20% of base, target $25,000–$40,000), based on company and individual performance
- Total target on-target earnings ($175,000–$200,000)
- Equity participation (1.5% common stock, QSBS-eligible, 4-year vesting with 1-year cliff)

Director of Technical Operations Requirements & Qualifications
- 10+ years of electrical engineering or technical leadership in manufacturing, industrial controls, or related sectors
- Active UL 508A MTR (Manufacturer Technical Representative) certification or equivalent
- Hands-on technical expertise in PLC programming, panel design, and control systems integration
- Direct experience with UL 891 type testing or UL 508A authorization process
- Based in Atlanta or willing to relocate to the Atlanta metropolitan area
Director of Technical Operations Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience founding or leading technical/engineering divisions at panel shops, switchgear manufacturers, or industrial automation firms
- State electrical contractor licensure (any state)
- Power distribution system design for large-scale or mission-critical facilities
- Background in data center, defense, aerospace, utility, or similar industries
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field
Director of Technical Operations Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Serve as technical authority across all four production shops, executing on a seven-year growth plan
- Lead UL technical compliance, including audits, type testing, and maintaining NRTL relationships
- Author technical sections of the Quality Manual and define engineering standards across product lines
- Coordinate with plant operations leadership on technical execution and hiring for wiring roles
- Mentor and develop technical capabilities within production teams, overseeing training, certification, and knowledge transfer
- Act as a customer-facing technical expert for complex configurations and engineering submittals
