Territory Sales Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years in industrial or manufacturing sales, or completion of relevant in-house training
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or 1+ years of related industry experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly for client visits, tradeshows, and company meetings
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet physical demands including regular standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds frequently (occasionally up to 50 pounds)
Territory Sales Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Previous experience in a B2B sales environment
- Experience with Salesforce (minimum 1 year)
- Familiarity with technical products or engineered solutions
Territory Sales Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Achieve sales and strategic objectives for assigned regions, territories, or customer segments
- Develop hands-on expertise with the company’s products to identify solutions that meet customer needs
- Lead customer engagements using a consultative, solutions-focused approach
- Assess client requirements and recommend optimal technical and commercial solutions
- Represent the full array of products and services to clients and prospects
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and internal teams
- Travel to client sites to learn about needs and effectively present solutions
